Nla, Platinum Sponsor Of Carifta 2024

St. George’s – Friday, April 5th, 2024 – The National Lotteries Authority (NLA) of Grenada was the Platinum sponsor of the recently concluded CARIFTA Games 2024. The Games ran at the Kirani James Athletic Stadium from Saturday 30th March to Monday 1st April 2024. Most of the Caribbean Community got prime spots to witness and experience the NLA’s commitment to its mandate of supporting Sports, Culture and Nation-Building at this one spectacular event. Prominently featuring in this display of strength and reliability was the NLA’s ability to see the completion of the resurfacing of the competition and warmup tracks to the tune of US one million, two hundred and sixty thousand dollars (US$1.26 million) equivalent to three million, four hundred and twenty thousand EC dollars (EC$3.42 million) in record time to produce a beautiful and fast surface. This feat was amped up even more by the contribution of EC three hundred thousand dollars (EC$300,000.00) or one hundred and ten thousand, four hundred and twenty thousand US dollars (US$110,420.00) for sponsorship of running of the Games.

The grounds were transformed by the multiple levels of NLA branding materials used to stamp the Platinum Sponsor’s involvement on spectators and participants of the games alike. Ten feet long by four feet wide (10 ft. L X 4 ft. W) NLA feather flags on 20 feet (20ft.) long galvanise pipes adorned the external perimeter railings of both bleachers. NLA embossed bunting was attached to the lower rails at the front of each stand. Athletes from all nations collected water and refreshment from NLA branded tents setup up around the warmup track for the facility. EC$21,443.00 was spent to secure this level of visibility for the NLA: design and print of the perimeter boards, installation o of the NLA feather flags, erection and grounding of the tents and installation of the NLA bunting on each stand.

Employees of the NLA received the treat of being able to witness the games live at the KJAS through tickets provided by the NLA. The NLA carried its mandate further by educating locals through a Social Media trivia contest on CARIFTA designed by HEXIVE Creative Agency (HCA) was hosted on the NLA Grenada Facebook page. The winner would provide their legal name and contact information to HCA. They would be informed that someone from the NLA would contact them about the prize collection. Collection of Prizes will be made at the NLA Main Office on the Carenage. All tolled the NLA contributed over EC$3.7 million dollars to the success of this event.
